TALE OF THE INFINITE STAIR : CHAPTER ONE
THERE was a staircase, glooms ominously throughout the night. people come and go. They all never cared or dared to question its existence. Many descended and ascended on the other side. But some stayed for all eternity. Its cement is made out from old rugged marble. Old and tired it is, with a spectrum of blemishes emblazoned upon its skin,Gray and cold when stepped barefooted.
THEY say the core or pillars of the stair have affection towards pure malice, Thus conveyed towards boarders of the stair. This stair is located in an old factory. Some people had no choice but to descend through the stair as no other way is provided. So does "Jack" and his wife "Elaine" who descended through the stair some time ago.
JACK works in the factory mentioned above. He never had any problem descending and ascending from the stair. But one day, his factory keeper Mr. Luke bestowed upon him the duty of closing the factory late at night. He reluctantly agrees. Then he swiftly rushes towards the nearest telephone booth and contacted his wife.
ELAINE is a good wife. one who loves his husband with all her heart. Hearing that his beloved needs to work overtime, she planned to surprise her husband at his workplace. She then prepared his favourite food and heads towards the factory upon dusk.
UPON arriving Elaine surprises his husband who is working tirelessly on the first floor of the factory. Jack was very delighted and both heads towards the canteen which is located on the third floor.
YOU see, the factory is years old. A four level paddy producing factory. There is no other ways upstairs except the stair. So , they had a wonderfull dinner together. Such in oblivion of what is to come a few moments ahead......
UPON their way down. Jack's nautical senses tells him something was amiss. His maths are not great but it does not take a rocket scientist to differentiate one and two. Three minus two must equal to 1, so they are supposed to be on level one by now. Elaine who noticed the anomaly as well asked
